Unreal engine - Game engine programmer

Written in English as we accept both Norwegian and English speaking applicants.

Are you the next addition to our growing team of world-builders and code-mages? We are looking for creative, fun-loving and entertainment savvy people to join us online to create the next fun products for our customers! The studio are currently developing new and exciting interactive experiences & mini games – and are now seeking out a talented person to help us develop the code.

Our target platforms are big screens and tablets – we do not currently produce apps or mobile games.

The position

The main task will be to take artists creations and animations and create scripts and code that controls the behavior of these assets. Does an animal go to hunt, sleep or just idle around? Does a plant slowly grow in sunlight or close up during night? Should it rain or be sunshine – and how does this affect the assets in the scenes? Does a sensor register a person and play an event?

You should understand the unreal game engine well enough to know if you can achieve your results using various techniques. Do you animate something with a shader or a rigged 3D figure? Can you simulate a swarm with the Niagara particle system? Can you use finished developed 3. party code to save weeks of development? Should you use a random function or a form of simple AI to control something? Knowing these tricks helps the development a lot.

In addition you will be assisting the general development of the “game engine” production of the toolkits themselves as part of the programming team.
